If you’re like me, you generally wear whatever colors you feel like. Or if you’re EXACTLY like me, you stick to the following colors: white, black, grey, brown, navy blue. Period. I dont like pattern. I dont like color. I’ve tried color and pattern and I never really am comfortable wearing them. i feel like a clown.  So, now, since I’ve been coloring my hair for the past year I’m really confused. Of course, to me, my colors never really mattered cuz the only time i got dressed was to go to a function. and who cares what you wear every day while taking out the trash or at the grocery store, right?

So. After learning more from Shelli, she has decided that I am a Warm Autumn because I have yellow in my skin tone (for those of you who speak “the lingo” I have been called “high yellow” all my life. but for different reasons) PLUS i have dark eyes and right now  I’m sporting light hair but my natural color is brown.

According to Shelli, these are my colors:

anyway what else has i been doing? boy has been prepping for college. and tomorrow is the big day. lots and lots of emotions but it’s coming and i’ll just have to smile and put on a nice front. then come home and party, er i mean, cry.

also, finished up old job. 

prepping for new job. i’ve been shopping for school supplies, trying to read through the teacher manual and most importantly, CLOTHES SHOPPING!!! you may know or not know or not care, that i have been working with the lovely and fashionable Shelli from Style Ingenuity; go here to see it http://www.styleingenuity.com/.  She’s been doing a series of posts on me called, aptly enough, The Pam Project. It’s about me, cuz I’m Pam. Under Shelli’s tutelage I have been shopping (not her requirement) and putting together outfits to make me look put together, child friendly, and UNFRUMPY!  Here is a sneaky peeky at some of the retail therapy (cuz you know I has a sad cuz my boy is leaving home) I’ve accomplished: you’ll notice that these are all just PIECES and not OUTFITS. I’m good at buying stuff but not so good at putting them together when i get them home. So that’s where Maestro Shelli comes in. 

as if that weren’t enough junk going on, i moved my office from the corner of my bedroom to the basement. i’d take a pic and show you but it’s trashed right now cuz i’m in the middle of about 65 skillion things (although i hate clutter).

as if THAT were’nt enough mindless drama for ya, i moved (ok, well, the #1 son moved) the furniture around in my bedroom. And while we were moving The Man’s dresser, we broke it. And then we put it back together and didnt tell him. cuz he’d never notice, anyway, right?

did i mention that the dog has been digging in the trash and leaving trails of bacon flavored paper towels all around the house? yep, that’s right. and then as if that’s not enough fun, he pukes in his crate so that i get to clean it up first thing in the morning, woo hoo, yay me!

ok that’s all for now, mostly cuz you’re prolly asleep and mainly cuz  i forget where i was going with this.

Why am I telling you all of this? Cuz I like to hear the sound of my own voice; No reason, really. But here is what’s been going on. 

*Right at this very moment I have three teenagers dancing in my living room. That’s why I’m up here. 

*Number 1 son turned 18 today.  Festivities go on all day. Hoping I still look 27.

*I’ve been re working my blog, as you should see if you are reading this on my blog and not some feeder reader thing. It’s still a work in progress so bear with me.

*Trying to pick up prescriptions and schedule school and job physicals, etc.

*Called the doc and got a refill of Synthroid. woo hoo! (now dont yell, I told her I was cutting the pill in half. mostly. on days that it doesnt disintegrate. (why is there an extra ‘t’ in that word?) She refilled me AND told me that a doc friend of hers said they were routinely or something prescribing T4 for TSH levels starting at 3. 3! and Mine was 1.97!!!

*got a new sleeper, trazodone. took it at 1245am last night. dont recommend that.

*did i mention birthday cake?

*new job orientation and reading policies and handbook and teaching how to’s and schtuff

*coffee, lotsa coffee

*other things (dont ask me what they are cuz I don’t know)

While cleaning out my closet i found some OLD clothes that i wore when i was younger and skinnier (may i add sickly skinny, but that’s…another…blog post).  I found some old pics of me wearing these old frocks, wanna see? 

this picture is funny (to me) because i weighed all of about 115 lbs and no boobs. i was on my way to a ballroom dance competition when I wore this. The Man loves this pic cuz i had it on my online dating profile.  I squoze my big butt into it when i pulled it out of the closet and he grinned like a damn cheshire cat. goofbally. i think my gams look kinda nice, though.

the next picture is my favorite because i think my hair looks really pretty. i got the dress for a STEAL many years ago in Austin and wore it to several functions (back when I was single and used to go to “functions” ) I love all the poufy stuff up around the neck.  I think it hides the fact that again, i have  no boobies.

ps. i’m embarrassed to admit i also found a fur stole. not sure WHY in the sam hill i bought that? i scare myself sometimes.

My goal of this project is to find a look that says: I’m in charge and you’ll love me for it! I picture myself as kinda the female Mr. Rogers, only with an edge. I like to dress conservatively, but that look isnt always kid friendly and I dont think really reflects my personality.  Wanna know how SATC fits in? Well, I like to dress like Charlotte and I have the mindset of Miranda, but yet i LOVE kids (and dogs)!   So I’ll be working on my assignment from Shelli and I might post pics. Keep your mind out of the gutter, not THOSE kind of pics! (do you think there’s a market there? er anyway)

You may have noticed (or not) that I havent been blogging as much lately. Perhaps you’re relieved. Either way, I’ve been a little silent. That’s because I’ve been doing some preliminary supply shopping.  I’m not sure what to expect as far as supplies and because this month will be busy for me (number 1 son is going off to college), I like to prepare as early as possible.  I also need to have time to put together outfits so that I project just the right “Me”.  To that end, I’ve also been having a little bit of an identity crisis. I havent worked full time in prolly 8-10 yrs. And so while I have clothes, they are not the right sort of clothes.

Speaking of clothes and new jobs, I thought this would be a good time to revamp myself, kinda like a makeover. Well, exactly like a makeover, actually. So, I plan to do some posts about clothes.   But anyway…I am excited to announce that I will be working with the lovely and talented Shelli from Style Ingenuity http://www.styleingenuity.com/ to come up with some work outfits! I hope you’ll stay tuned for the drama of me trying to find my “look”. One that doesnt say “clown” or “homeless.”

I also plan on revamping the look of my blog. I’m kinda tired of it and I like to change things up every once in a while. You can ask The Man, cuz I’m constantly rearranging the furniture at home.
